Kylie Padilla Opens Up About The Painful Regret Of Leaving Encantadia: “It’s Really Painful To See Them Not Complete Because Of Me”
In a heartfelt revelation, Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla looked back on one of the most pivotal and emotional moments in her career—the time she had to leave Encantadia in 2017, just as her portrayal of the beloved character Amihan was hitting its peak. Her unexpected pregnancy led to her early departure from the series, and the regret she still carries remains deeply personal.
Encantadia, a fantasy epic that originally aired in 2005, made a triumphant comeback in 2016 with a new generation of Sang’gres—Kylie Padilla, Glaiza de Castro, Sanya Lopez, and Gabbi Garcia. The reboot was met with excitement from both longtime fans and new viewers, and Kylie’s version of Amihan quickly won hearts. However, her journey was cut short when she became pregnant with her now-estranged husband, actor Aljur Abrenica.
The sudden development forced the show’s creators and writers to make difficult decisions. Kylie’s character was written off, and in the upcoming spin-off Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre, Amihan is no longer part of the central story. For Kylie, this absence is more than just a missed opportunity—it’s a source of deep emotional reflection.
“I worked so hard for people to love my version of Amihan,” Kylie shared in a recent interview. “And then, at the height of it, I got pregnant. It was so unexpected. I didn’t know what to do.”
She admitted that her personal situation created a ripple effect in the production. “The creatives had to adjust the entire story. It wasn’t just regret I felt—it was something bigger. I still feel like I owe them. That’s my hope now, to somehow make up for it.”
Kylie also revealed that seeing the Sang’gres incomplete without her has been especially painful. “It’s really painful to see them not complete, just because of me,” she confessed. Despite her absence, she dreams of one day reuniting with her fellow Sang’gres onscreen, believing that the true spirit of Encantadia includes Amihan.
When asked about how her co-stars reacted to the news of her pregnancy, Kylie said they congratulated her, but they never had a real conversation about what happened. “I still don’t know how they truly felt,” she admitted. “At the time, I was scared that they might be disappointed.”
Years later, Kylie’s words reflect not just the personal cost of her decision but the weight of leaving behind a role and a bond that meant so much to her and to fans. For her, it wasn’t just a fantasy series—it was a sisterhood, a legacy, and a dream she’s still hoping to revisit and redeem.
