As one of the popular actresses in the early 2000s, Rica Peralejo has dated a few actors of her time, including Piolo Pascual and Bernard Palanca.

On Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” the former actress opened up about her past relationships with the two actors.

Rica said that she learned a lot from Bernard, whom she dated for four years.

“I think of all my relationships, doon ako pinakanatuto kasi malalim talaga ‘yong pinagsamahan namin at lahat ng nangyari sa buhay namin,” she began.

The 43-year-old actress then shared the biggest lesson she learned from their time together.

“I think the lesson for me there was you can’t really change a person if the person himself doesn’t wanna change,” she said. “Not that I’m saying he’s wrong or he’s bad, kahit kasi ako rin ang dami ko ring pagkukulang. Whenever I look back I wouldn’t have been the greatest support din pala for all he was going through that time.”

Rica also admitted that the both of them felt that there were some things that needed to be changed in their relationship, but it didn’t turn out exactly the way they wanted.

“Both of us felt na may mga bagay naman talagang dapat baguhin pero hindi pa dumadating. Naniniwala kasi ako ‘don eh. Kahit na gusto mong magbago, may panahon talaga na talagang dadating sayo at magagawa mo na ito,” she said.

“And I think sa couples ganon ‘yon. Kung hindi kayo nag-match, doon mag-fall out.”

When it comes to her relationship with Piolo, Rica said the both of them “existed and functioned like a couple.” In fact, there were times that they have discussed the idea of settling down together.

“Pero like any other couple, ganon lang siya na maiisip mo na puwedeng mangyari ito. Pero he never naman promised, I never naman said na I wanted this, it was just something na we entertained. It never got to the point,” Rica said.

Despite their “no label” relationship, Rica said that what she and Piolo had together was “very good.”

“We didn’t put a label. It was very obvious that we liked each other, we loved each other. But we were like more friends really na we just like to be together a lot. And then we talked about the possibilities,” she said.

In the same interview, Rica revealed that she was in a relationship with her former love team Red Sternberg, but only for one day.

Rica retired from showbiz in 2015 and is now happily married to Pastor Joseph Bonifacio. They have two children: Philip and Manu.
