MANILA – Actor Piolo Pascual is seemingly enjoying serious types of roles.
One of these is in the hit Kapamilya series “Pamilya Sagrado” where he portrays the role of Rafael Sagrado, a corrupt public official, and another one is the upcoming Brillante Mendoza movie “Moro.”
“I guess I have the privilege of living in a time wherein there are a lot of issues people want to talk about. So, I’m just really happy that I got to portray different roles, you know socially relevant or just in the case of ‘Mallari’ I did not even know that he was a real person for ‘Moro’ good thing I have the availability and even with the ‘Pamilya Sagrado’ first time ever I get to play a corrupt politician,” he said in Interview on Saturday.
According to Pascual, he’s enjoying these types of roles that come his way.
“I guess it is because of the times you know and also at my age, I’m just happy that I got at least diversify the way that I cannot necessarily choose it, it comes my way you know I didn’t choose these roles these are all just offered to me,” he explained.
Known for his romantic-comedy movies before, Pascual also did not see himself retiring from the love story genre.
“No. I don’t think that I’ll ever graduate doing rom-com’s. Because, ‘yung genre natin, kinalakihan natin iyan eh’, and that’s timeless eh, no matter how old you are, you can always be romantic, you can always do a love story,” the actor said.
Aside from his upcoming movies, Pascual can also be seen on “Pamilya Sagrado” together with Kyle Echarri and Grae Fernandez.
“Pamilya Sagrado” airs weeknights, 8:45 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC.
