Ineembistigahan ngayon ng Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) ang nangyaring pag-escort ng isa umanong retiradong police kina Gretchen Barretto at Charlie “Atong” Ang sa immigration counter ng NAIA 1.
Kinukuwestiyon ngayon kung bakit may nag-escort kay Ang at Gretchen sa immigration counter ng naturang airport. Ayon sa ulat ng 24 Oras ay bawal ito alinsunod sa mga patakaran ng Bureau of Immigration.
Hindi man kita sa CCTV footage na ibinigay sa GMA News, magkasama raw dumating sina Ang at Gretchen mula Thailand. Ang kanilang grupo ay sinundo raw ni retired SPO4 Ciriaco Peralta na umano’y taga-media, ayon sa ulat na umabot kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente. Gamit daw nito ang access pass na inisyu ng MIAA.
“Ito po ay hindi kawani ng Bureau of Immigration, ngunit ito’y isang retired policeman na naka-access po ng pass para pumasok po sa paliparan,” sambit ni Atty. Maria Antoinette Mangrobang, spokesperson ng Bureau of Immigration.
Lumabas din sa imbestigasyon ng MIAA na walang mamamahayag na Ciriaco Peralta na nagko-cover sa NAIA. Hinimok din nila na dapat mag-imbestiga ang Bureau of Immigration.
Pahayag ni MIAA Spokesperson Connie Bungag, “Bakit siya nakapag-assist within the area of immigration? That’s something that Immigration should look into because their area is highly sanitized.”
Iniimbestigahan din ng Immigration kung nabigyan ba ng special treatment sina Ang at Gretchen pagdating sa immigration counter.
Nagpadala naman ng text message si Ang sa 24 Oras.
Paliwanag niya, “When I was about to take the long immigration queue, somebody courteously approached me to follow him which I did without hesitation. I do not know the person who approached and guided me… I have not requested for any courtesy assistance.”
“I don’t know of anybody in the Bureau of Immigration, except the two deputy immigration commissioners who were involved in the alleged Fontana bribery incident,” patuloy niya.
