Marjorie Barretto has come to the defense of her daughter, Julia Barretto, after the actress was accused of ordering temporary area closures in Camiguin for her travel series, Juju On The Go.

The controversy erupted on social media when a netizen alleged that Julia was behind the temporary restrictions in certain areas in Camiguin during their shoot for her travel series.

Julia swiftly denied the accusations in her latest statement online, clarifying that she had no authority over such decisions, which were entirely under the jurisdiction of the local government.

“To clarify: I was not involved in any decisions regarding closures. The coordination and management of the locations were entirely under the jurisdiction of the local government.”

Julia also expressed her frustration over the viral post of the netizen about her travel series, saying, “To assume I had the authority to dictate such decisions is both unfair and misleading.”

At one point, Julia said her series aims to celebrate the destinations she’s visiting and what they have to offer by supporting the community behind it and sharing her experiences with her fans.

Now, Marjorie is stepping in to set the record straight and even responded to the netizen on Instagram, confronting them for altering their initial statement and said it made them look weak.

In her online post, Marjorie even informed the netizen that they have the original post on file, and proceeded to ask the netizen if they realized how irresponsible her post and claims were online.

“Why did you edit your original post? We have the original post on file. Did you realize how irresponsible you were? When you put it out there and you are called out, editing only makes you look weak.”

Julia also previously announced that she is seeking legal action regarding the matter, particularly against the spread of manipulated content, including a TikTok video with fake audio about her.
